Bio

I have over 15 years experience as a biologist and teacher. I am an avid gardener and woodsman with a real passion for ensuring people get the most out of their gardens, land and trees, whilst creating outdoor spaces that encourage nature and enhance biodiversity. I now combine the practical skills I have gained from years of gardening and managing my family’s small holding, with the knowledge and expertise I have as a biologist.

Qualifications

I am fully qualified and insured to carry out:

  • Large tree felling
  • Wind-blown and storm damaged tree work
  • Aerial tree surgery
  • Brush cutter work and hedge cutting

I have completed the Intermediate Professional Tree Inspection course and hold the Emergency First Aid for Work with Forestry qualification.

Experience

I have been a professional gardener for three years for numerous private customers in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire. I am also employed by Wye Coppice CIC and Kilmaha Forestry. In these roles I support agencies like Forestry England, National Resources Wales, The Woodland Trust, Wildlife Trusts and private landowners in managing woodlands and countryside sustainably. I also work with The Gloucestershire Orchard Trust helping to manage their orchards and fruit trees.
